There are some products that are so unique, and so special, that you just have to have them in your home. Our gorgeous star map from Greater Skies is one such gift. I love seeing it hang on the wall in my living room, a constant, gorgeous reminder of one of the best days of my life: My wedding day!

Choose your sky

What I love about Greater Skies is the versatility of skies. You can quite literally choose a sky to remember any occasion. With three simple steps you can choose you location (simply enter a place, address or coordinates), date and time. With so many amazing dates in my memory, it was hard to narrow down my choice. I thought back over all my top moments from the day John proposed to the birth of our girls. In the end I settled on our Wedding Day. The stars in my map are the ones found above the church, the moment John and I became husband and wife; but you could choose whatever date, time and memory you wish.

Select your style

There are a number of selections you need to make when it comes to how you want to show off your new Greater Skies star map, with options to suit most budgets. Firstly you need to decide if you want a printed star map, or simply a download which you can print yourself in the available sizes. Next choose your size preference, with a choice of 40x50cm or 50x70cm (which is the size I went for!) followed by deciding which colour you want framing your star map. I decided to go for black but you can also select navy blue, dark green, brown or purple. Finally you need to decide if you wish to have your star map framed. To save me having to frame it myself, I decided to let them do it.

Finish with a little personal touch

My favourite part of my Greater Skies star map is the personalised section beneath the map itself. You are able to choose a title, something to remind you what the star map is showing you. Mine is titled, "The sky in Egham on our Wedding Day, Saturday 14th May 2011". Lastly you choose a personalised message, which is especially great if you are purchasing the star map as a gift. The message needs to be over five lines, this is what I picked for mine:

Daily enjoyment and perfect reminder

Wherever you hang your Greater Skies star map you will have something to enjoy and a gorgeous reminder of the special date you've recorded there. Even at night my star map still looks so wonderful in our living room. In some ways, without the reflection of other things in the room, I think the night view of it is even better. Set on the white wall background it is bold and beautiful, and I can't help but smile looking up at it. I work some very late nights (usually because it's the only time I have to get a solid amount of work time in!) so it is nice to have something to bring back awesome memories even if I'm feeling super tired.
