I Love Christmas | A Few of My Favourite Things

I absolutely love Christmas (if you haven't worked that out yet!) However there are some things about Christmas which are simply the cherry on top of the Christmas cake. So today, I'm sharing with you a few of my favourite things about Christmas.

Christmas in the shops

There are plenty of people who will disagree with me on this one but I love when Christmas appears in the stores. I am not a big fan of Halloween and so seeing it all disappear and be replaced with Christmas always puts a smile on my face. I also used to work for Clintons and the cards would arrive and start being put on the shop floor in August so I'm used to Christmas 'early' arrival.

Christmas clothes

This has to be the best part of Christmas for me. Christmas jumpers, Christmas leggings, Christmas dresses, Christmas socks... you name it, my family has it. It always cheers me up, no matter how bad a say or week I'm having. Pop in a pair of Christmas earrings and slip into some Christmas clothes and bam! I feel so much better.

Christmas songs

I've been singing and listening to Christmas songs since August when I first started working on my Christmas gift guides (which, by the way, you can check out here!) It only seemed fitting that as I was writing about Christmas I add a bit of Christmas pizzazz to the occasion! I love a variety of Christmas songs including classic hymns and carols as well as some of the more modern offerings too!

Christmas cheer

For some reason at this time of year, with the exception of the occasional Scrooge, most people start to be so much happier. I don't know if it's a reflection of people looking forward to the Christmas holidays, or the songs and decorations putting every one into a good mood, but Christmas always seems to be a happier, more cheerful time of year. This is especially true when people see our beautiful girls all decked out in Christmas goodness and being their happy, cute selves!

Christmas pyjamas

As the days get shorter and the winter nights close in, there is nothing better than snuggling up in a cosy set of pyjamas under a warm blanket with a hot mug of cocoa. For me that's the case anyway. I love the variety of Christmas pyjamas that are available, and they always leave me feeling happy and festive (and unlikely to want to ever get dressed!)

Memories of Christmas past

Over the years I have made so many amazing Christmas memories. From those as a child when my dad's whole family (my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins!) would get tgether, to the first one John and I spent together to the first Christmases spent with our girls. Each year as I get out the massive collection of Christmas decorations I am reminded of so many amazing Christmases we have celebrated. With photo frames showing visits to Santa and baubles that were bought to celebrate momentous occasions and even photo magnets with photos through the years; there are so many things that remind me of good times past, and give me hope for future good memories too!

Christmas lights

No one can dispute the amazingness (is that even a word?!) of Christmas lights. Adding bright colours and twinkling lights to the long winter nights is sure to cheer anyone up. They come in so many shapes and sizes, some for the tree, some for hanging up, we fill our home with them and every year they make me feel amazing.
