Mother's Day 2017 | Gift Guide | Me Becoming Mum

Mother's Day is both a happy and sad time for me. I can't help but think about the fact that two of my babies are in heaven.  Despite this, being able to celebrate with my beautiful rainbow babies makes it an amazing day, and my husband always makes sure that the day is special for all of us, even if he has to work.

Today I'm going to show you a few of my favourite gift ideas for the mama in your life. Whether it's a treat for your mama, your partner or simply something for you there is something for everyone here!

Time

Time Alone

Sometimes the best gift you can give a mama, especially one who is at home with the children all day, is a bit of time to herself with a good book or a nice candle lit bubble bath!

I'll be honest though, more than the book reading or bath times the best time alone that you could offer any mama is a lie in. If possible.

Time Together

Sometimes it's the little things that mean the most. Why not pop out for a nice coffee, or book a table for lunch for your mama? If you don't fancy pushing through the crowds of people that will be making their way out for a Mother's Day treat, try something different at home.

Making your mama breakfast in bed, and cooking a nice Sunday roast yourself is a perfect way to help your mama, enjoy her day - unless of course you're a lousy cook; in which case maybe consider popping to your local supermarket hot counter and purchasing the items for a roast dinner already ready to go!

MAMA Merch

I have recently become a massive lover of all things MAMA themed, and have an amazing selection of MAMA merchandise. My top choices include:

# Range by GigiLovesBlake

I love the amazing personalised items from bags to clothing like my awesome #supermama sweater and you can choose a hash tag to suit your mama (or you) just like I did

#GoodTees Range by The FMLY Store

The lovely range that The FMLY Store offer may be a little on the more expensive side in comparison to some of the other MAMA merch but it is so worth it. They are super comfy and a portion of the price you pay goes to charity!

Jewellery

I am partial to a beautiful bit of jewellery, and if it can combine my love for all things MAMA, even better!  Here are a couple of items of jewellery that I love and think would make great Mother's Day gifts.

Personalised Necklaces from Love Layyanah

Whether you fancy personalising your necklace with MAMA just like I did, or adding your children's initials like a friend of mine has, these gorgeous necklaces are the way to do it!

Ted Baker Necklace Sets from Amara Living

If you read my Happy Mother's Day from Amara post you may have seen my beautiful rose gold heart earrings and necklace set that I received from Amara. It is a truly beautiful set, and there are other jewellery options on the site to choose from too!

Teething and Twiddle Jewellery

Some of my favourite brands include Loopy Makes, Bo and Bel (one of my necklaces from her is pictured below), and of course, Maybe Baby Products (whose necklace I reviewed here.)

Mama Charm

I love my Pandora bracelet (which you may have seen in this post), and these days with Pandora, Chamilia and other brands becoming more and more popular, many mamas are wearing a charm bracelet of some description on their wrist every day. The perfect gift for these mamas is one of the many beautiful mama charms, a few of which I own myself!

Homeware

Sometimes the best gifts are the useful ones. As nice as it is for us all to have a little treat for ourselves, there is something nice about a gift being given that is as useful as it is pretty. Here are some of my favourites.

Maiden Dorset Candles *

I love these candles. If you fancy grabbing one (or more!) of these gorgeous candles for your mama or even yourself, use code 'ilovemummy' to get 15% off orders over £25 until midnight on Mother's Day.

Melli Mello Cushions from Amara *

I am a self-confessed cushion lover. I have them on every sofa and bed in our home and the beautiful Melli Mello cushion I have from Amara home and living is one of my new favourites! There are so many beautiful cushions on offer at Amara... thus they are definitely an item that must be part of this Mother's Day gift guide.

An Awesome Mug

Whether you fancy an empowering mug from Rachael Kellet's range, or a simple "I love my mum" mug from your local Matalan, it is a safe bet your mama will love it.  Most parents are powered by caffeine and what better way to let them know you care than by gifting them a vessel by which to drink their daily dose?

Food and drink

They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but I can't say that the same isn't true for us ladies! Treating your mama on Mother's Day with some food, or drink, is perfect. You may ask why, and would say this; because food and drink is consumed and doesn't clutter up our homes. Perfect!

Chocolate

ALL the chocolate.

Wine

More than one bottle preferably! Or gin. Or both.

Miscellaneous

The Native State Inspiration Cards *

These lovely cards were a part of my MamaMe box (the review of which you can find here and incidentally has awesome stuff perfect for Mother's Day!) and they are so perfect for reminded me of things when I most need it.

One of my current favourites is of course the "You've Got This" card, which I have sitting in my kitchen as a daily reminder that no matter what happens throughout the day, I'm rocking this mama thing!

Flowers

I love to have beautiful flowers in my home and I am lucky enough to have a husband who knows this and I have had plenty of gorgeous ones over the years. If you prefer not to buy bouquets (especially as they are super expensive this time of year with everyone cashing in on Mother's Day!) then why not buy a nice potted plant, which is cheaper and also will last longer than the average seven days that is the usual life span of a cut bouquet.
