Easter Adventure Quest at Birdoswald | Exploring Cumbria
We have been to Birdoswald a few times over the years, and the children love it here. If you've read my previous post about our visit to Birdoswald Roman Fort for the half term ‘Kids Rule’ event a couple of years ago or seen my reels on social media, you'll know I think it makes a fabulous day out for all the family. Now it's time to write about it again, because they've got a perfect new addition for the 2025 Easter holidays.
Read on to check out everything you need to know about Birdoswald Roman Fort and their new Easter Adventure Quest. As usual I’ve included all you need to plan your very own Easter holiday family day out.
About Birdoswald Roman Fort
Birdoswald - known as Banna during the time of the Roman Empire - is home to the longest surviving stretch of Hadrian's Wall and the remains of a Roman fort. The fort was occupied by Roman auxiliaries from approximately AD 126 to AD 400.
Whilst there is a fair amount to explore, they have not finished excavations yet. Plans for further excavations have been made to 2026, so who knows what more will be there to check out in the future.
