Chain Bridge Honey Farm is a hidden gem we first visited back in 2016 with Squidgy… and now we’ve returned, this time with four children in tow! It’s a lovely hidden gem in Northumberland and we highly recommend a visit if you live or stay in the North East.

About Chain Bridge Honey Farm

Chain Bridge Honey Farm takes its name from the Union Chain Bridge that connects England and Scotland just a short 5-ish minute walk from the farm. This family run business has been around since 1948, with the visitor centre being introduced in 1991. They currently have around 1500 hives (with expansion plans!) and deliver their delicious honey and amazing products to stores, restaurants, wholesale, and even your home via their online store.

10:00 - 16:00

Where can I park?

The parking for Chain Bridge Honey Farm is available just beyond the entrance. Simply follow the signs in past the vintage farm vehicles.

Visiting Chain Bridge Honey Farm is completely free. That being said, if you’re anything like us you'll soon enough spend money on the amazing honey and wax products in the shop!

Is it suitable for children?

This is definitely a great spot to take your children. From the littlest members to the older members of your family, there is a little something for everyone. Taste their delicious honey, explore the visitor centre, play in the children's area, check out the vintage farm vehicles, and more.

Are there facilities available?

Next to Chain Bridge Honey Farm's Bus Café there are toilets available for use.

Is there anywhere to eat nearby?

You can buy ice cream and soft drinks in the gift shop. Plus, when it's open in the Spring and Summer months, the Bus Café is the perfect spot for a cuppa and cake.
