Mama Christmas' Grotto | My Home at Christmas

It's been a while, but our Christmas grotto home is officially back! With Covid, buying our first home, and sadly a few mental health issues on my part, it has been a wee while since we've had a proper turnout of the Christmas decorations we have collected over the past 16 years.

That being said, turning my home into our very own Christmas grotto every year earned me the nickname Mama Christmas, and I can’t wait to share this year’s decorating shenanigans.

Munchkin is in a green Marval Christmas jumper in front of a faux Christmas tree with rainbow decorations, smiling at the camera as he hangs an ornament.

What’s new?

Three Christmas candles with LED lights that turn on when flame is lit, two neon, one plain LEDs from M&S.
  1. Christmas LED candles: Buy from M&S

  2. Neon Ho Ho Ho Sign: Buy from Dunelm

  3. Christmas Cactus: Buy from Hortology

  4. Houseplant Pot Covers: Buy from Forest and Leaf

  5. Christmas Hiball Glasses: Buy from Dunelm

  6. Gingerbread Scene

  7. Christmas Tree Plant Pot

  8. LED Christmas Tree Candles

Of course, we didn't buy everything new. I love a good thrifty buy at Christmas, whether from Vinted, Ebay, or local charity shops. From houseplant pot covers to glassware, I picked up a handful of new additions this year all for less than a fiver a piece. New to you at Christmas doesn't have to cost the earth (literally!)

Take the tour

Now you've seen what's new, let's take a tour of the rest of our home and everything thar we've collected in the past 16 years to turn our home into a Christmas grotto. Or if you ask one of my best friends, a place where Santa's elves threw up, haha!

My favourite part of the whole house has to be our Christmas gallery wall. There is something special about displaying the memories of our annual Christmas photos through the years.

I absolutely love decorating for Christmas, especially now the children join in and love it as much as I do. The joy it brings them makes it all worthwhile. It really brings the Christmas magic to our home, and I hope you enjoy scrolling through just as much as I love decorating!

Wishing you a very Happy Christmas from my family and me this year!
