From the first time you hold them in your arms, your children change your whole world. Everything you do is to make sure they are safe. From nappy rash to teething to the bumps and scrapes as they learn to walk; there are so many things that we are responsible for helping them with throughout their childhood. Here are some ways Bepanthen helps me keep our littlest family member nappy rash free and smiling every day.

Why do we use Bepanthen?

We absolutely love Bepanthen, from the way it feels to the way it smells. Here are my three top reasons for using Bepanthen during nappy changes.

  1. Its kind-to-skin. Did you know it has no fragrances, colours, preservatives, parabens or antiseptics? This makes it perfect for even the littlest baby, and means it has been a go-to product for me in the five years since having my eldest daughter.

  2. My girls inherited my sensitive skin, meaning the protective layer is not as protective as it could be. Bepanthen contains Provitamin B5 which helps my little one's skin repair the natural protective barrier. For children like mine, this makes it a wonder product in protecting them whilst in nappies.

  3. Even in cloth nappies, nappy rash can still be a problem. This is especially true at times when my girls have been unwell, teething or had their injections. Bepanthen forms a breathable protective layer against irritants (like poo!) and has made a massive difference to our family over the years.

When have we used Bepanthen?

From when my girls were teeny!

We've been using Bepanthen for years, not just as part of the #BepanthenProtects challenge. I first discovered how much of a difference it made to my girls when I was dealing with my eldest daughter's allergic reactions to disposable nappies. Even after we made the transition to cloth nappies, we continued to use Bepanthen to help protect her skin. After Pickle was born, Bepanthen was still my go to product during nappy changes, and I still use it today, over two years on.

When do we use Bepanthen?

At home

The main time I use Bepanthen is when we're at home. Being a stay at home mum and working from home too means this is where most of Pickle's nappy changes happen. Each time I change her I pop on a layer of Bepanthen (usually accompanied by her giggles and, "it tickles mummy!" because it's cool on her skin!) I also use it after her bath at bedtime, ensuring she's fully dry beforehand, as it's the longest time she will be left in the same nappy.

Out and about

Discovering small, travel versions of the Bepanthen tubes was awesome because it means we can still use it when we head out. Whether we go out just for a few hours or a whole day, I can pop Bepanthen in the changing bag, or even my handbag. This means there is no gap in the time we're using it to help protect Pickle's skin. I'd say that's a win.

I cannot recommend Bepanthen enough. With us hoping Pickle will not to be our last child, there will be more years of our family using it too. I know we are likely not far from our smiley, youngest daughter being out of nappies; but for now, I will continue to use Bepanthen to help protect her skin.
